In December 2006, Sprint Corporation decided that they needed a major Data Services upgrade and turned to Cable Tech to provide the Structured Cabling portions of the installation.
Working in 2 separate phases, the combined Statements of Work required the installation of 500 linear foot of conduit, 1400+ CAT6E copper cable runs fully tested and certified, 240 Fiber Optic links, also fully tested and certified. In both cases all the runs were under the raised floor in a complex environment of existing electrical conduits, chiller pipes, floor supports and other impediments.
Working closely with the Sprint Project Management and Site Facilities Management teams, Cable Tech completed Phase 1 5 days ahead of schedule and in-budget, then Phase 2 exactly on schedule and in-budget.
At cutover time a fiber optics issue delayed the team one day, but did not affect the overall implementation schedule and was successfully resolved by Cable Tech. |
