Cable Tech specializes in the installation of structured cabling (Cat-3, Cat-5, and Fiber). We emphasize modular designs that strictly adhere to the various standards and specifications governing the data and voice cabling industry including BICSI, IEEE, EIA/TIA, ANSI, UL, ETL and the FCC.
Although a structured cabling system will outlive most other networking components, it represents only 5% of the total typical network investment. A structured cabling system represents a sound investment in the productivity of your company.
The backbone of all communications is built upon cable systems that snake through buildings, data centers, and communications networks. Cable Tech partners with its customers to complement its business voice and data communications with structured cable systems. The end product of this collaboration is an end-to-end communications infrastructure product offering from a single turnkey vendor.
Cable Tech offers only Structured Cabling Systems because Inferior cabling systems are the cause of up to 70% of network downtime. By installing a standard structured cabling system, much of this downtime can be effectively eliminated.
Our technicians are fully OEM certified and we adhere to a strict quality assurance program. With unsurpassed warranty service and support, Cable Tech offers both pass-through manufacturer warranties and Cable Tech's own installation warranty.
Whether it's installing a few cables or cabling entire buildings, Cable Tech will do the job quickly and professionally.. Cable Tech offers the following types of structured cable systems:
Cat-3 - Category 3 cable is used in analog telephone, 10 base-T, and T1 (conditioned lines) applications. The cable contains twisted pair wire of 22 to 24 AWG and comes UTP (unshielded twisted pair) or STP (shielded twisted pair). The cable is used for digital or data-transport applications with speed of up to 16 MHz at 300 feet.
Cat-5- Category 5 cable is used in 10 base-T, 100 base-T, token ring, switched token ring, ATM and T1 applications. The cable contains twisted pair wire of 22 to 24 AWG and comes UTP or STP. Each pair in a cable sheath has a different number of twists per foot. The cable is used for digital or data-transport applications with speed of up to 100 MHz at 300 feet.
Cat-5e - Category 5e cable is used in 10 base-T, 100 base-T, 1000 base-T, token ring, switched token ring, ATM and T1 applications. The cable contains twisted pair wire of 22 to 24 AWG and comes UTP or STP. Each pair in a cable sheath has a higher number of twists per foot than Cat-5 cable. The cable is used for digital or data-transport applications with speed of up to 350 MHz at 300 feet.
Category 6 cable, commonly referred to as Cat 6, is a cable standard for Gigabit Ethernet and other network protocols that is backward compatible with the Category 5/5e and Category 3 cable standards. Cat-6 features more stringent specifications for crosstalk and system noise. The cable standard provides performance of up to 250 MHz and is suitable for 10BASE-T / 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet). It is expected to suit the 10GBASE-T (10Gigabit Ethernet) standard, although with limitations on length if unshielded Cat 6 cable is used.
Cable Tech inc. generally uses CAT 6 cable in installations unless otherwise specified by the customer. CAT 6 and 6E represent the best alternative to 'future proof' you Structured Cabling Copper based systems and will generally handle any Network Requirements that a user is likely to have.
